The author is:

Intellectual property:

The term “intellectual property” refers to intangible human mind creations, such as copyright, patents and trademarks, which are easily stolen or attributed to non-owners as opposed to physical property. Penalties for infringement of authors’ rights:

The author enjoys criminal protection up to imprisonment, and civil protection (compensation), in the event of an attack on the author’s ideas.

The penalties are:

– Alarm.

– A fine not exceeding SAR 250 thousand.

– The closure of a facility that is trespassing or has contributed to an infringement of copyright for a period not exceeding two months.

– Confiscation of all copies of the category. as well as materials intended or used to commit an infringement of the author’s right.

No more than six months’ imprisonment.

In the event of repeated infringement of the same or other category, the maximum penalty, fine and closure may be doubled.

The Committee may include in its decision the penalty for defamation of the aggressor.

The Commission may include in its decision the suspension of the aggressor’s participation in activities, events or exhibitions if the offence is caught on a commercial occasion, but the suspension shall not exceed two years.

The Commission may also decide on financial compensation for the aggrieved copyright holder who lodges the complaint, which is proportional to the extent of the assault and the damage suffered.
